From the creator of Rave Master and Fairy Tail, Hiro Mashima is back at it with his latest work, Edens Zero. This sci-fi anime adapted from the manga of the same name takes us on an adventure around the Sakura Cosmos with a boy named Shiki and his new friends, Rebecca, and a cat named Happy.
Shiki has lived his whole life in a deserted amusement park called the Granbell Kingdom. Surrounded by robots, he's the lone human of Granbell who has never met other humans. One day, content creators Rebecca and her cat Happy arrive to shoot videos for their B-Cube channel.
Unaware that they're the first guests in a hundred years, the robots initially offer them a grand welcome. They're also shocked to find that a human, Shiki, is living on the planet. He asks them to become friends with him.
Later on, Shiki is forced by the robots to leave the planet so that he won't be alone when their batteries die. Accompanying Rebecca and Happy, Shiki finally sets out on a journey to see the world and find even more friends.
This anime by J.C. Staff is airing 25 episodes, set in a split-cour. It is available on Netflix but restricted to Japan. For fans outside of Japan, they will have to wait until Fall 2021 to watch this series.
Will There Be a Season 2 of Edens Zero?
No announcement has been made yet regarding the second season of Edens Zero. Each episode adapts around 3-4 chapters of the manga. As of writing, the manga is still currently ongoing, with the latest chapter being Chapter 145. With that, there's still going to be a lot of content left by the time this season is finished. For now, we can only hope for an update soon! In the meantime, since the series has 25 episodes being released in a split-cour, there is still plenty of new episodes on the way.
