The second episode of Sakugan continues with Gagumber and Memenpu's intense fight with the kaiju. They manage to successfully save their Colony from the wrath of these monsters. Following the events of the attack, Gagumber and Memenpu finally embark on the beginning of their journey as Markers.
Sakugan follows the story of a father and daughter duo named Gagumber and Memenpu, who live in an underground city. The surrounding area leaves many mysteries that have yet to be solved, considering that these places aren't even fully mapped yet. This job is for Markers, which is an incredibly dangerous and deadly task. To fulfill Memenpu's dreams, the two of them become Markers.

Sakugan Episode 2 Recap
Gagumber and Memenpu get in the robot, trying to fight the kaiju that's terrorizing their Colony. The two of them run all over the area, trying to draw the monster away towards the outside of the Colony. Memenpu is initially freaking out over controlling the robot, but Gagumber assures her that it will be alright. She eventually keeps her cool and successfully uses her genius skills to formulate a plan to get rid of the kaiju.
They eventually meet up with the rest of Team Walsh, who were still unaware of Walsh and Lynda's death. Gagumber informs them about it, shocking them. One of the kaiju drags the other kaiju towards their group, which isn't usually done based on their knowledge of these creatures. For some reason, it seems that the kaiju were specifically targeting Memenpu and Gagumber. The two of them continue to lure these monsters away from Pinyin with the help of the rest of Team Walsh.
Following these events, Gagumber finally decides to sign the two of them up as Markers. Memenpu makes some modifications to the robot as well, naming it Big Tony. Gagumber gives Memenpu some keepsakes from Lynda and himself before they embark on their deadly journey. The episode ends with them officially starting their trip as Markers.
