Who is Kate Bishop in Hawkeye?

Portrayed by Hailee Steinfeld, Kate Bishop is expected to be the next person to don the title of Hawkeye after Clint Barton. In this series, it is anticipated that the baton will be passed onto her and Barton would take on a new alias or possibly continue retiring especially with his kids growing up. Bishop seems like an avid fan of Hawkeye and she is damn good at shooting arrows as well as seen in the trailer.

Their meeting would be uncanny as Barton saw Bishop in the news wearing a similar suit as that of Ronin, the time after his family got blipped, and it was a dark time for him given that he became an international assassin with such a name. With Bishop an avid fan, they take on a group of criminals with their bows and arrows.

In the comics, Bishop first appeared in 2005 in the Young Avengers #1 by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung. In the 12th issue of the said comic, she took on the title of Hawkeye following the death of the original in Avengers #502. Highly skilled in swordsmanship, archery, boxing, jujitsu, fencing, and other combat forms, her weapons of choice are staves like Mockingbird's, sword-like that of Swordsman's, and bow and arrow of Barton.

Hawkeye will be out via Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
