Hortensia Saga is produced by Liden Films which follows the story of the medieval Kingdom of Hortensia where the duke betrayed the king and murdered him so he could be the one to rule the kingdom not knowing that there is an heir, a princess, posing as a man and is secretly coming of age preparing to take the throne that is rightfully hers.
The Kingdom of Hortensia is divided into two main territories of Carmellia and Olivier. Unfortunately, Carmellia faces a revolt and this is only worsened as the threat to the Kingdom of Hortensia intensifies with the arrival of monsters.
Hortensia Saga is the isekai anime adaptation of the game of the same name released by f4Samurai and Sega which is a role-playing and free-to-play game for Android and iOS. The game was released to the public in 2015 and is currently ongoing.
The animated series of Hortensia Saga will be having 12 episodes which are confirmed by the Blu-ray and DVD release of the series divided into three volumes. The Blu-ray and DVD release volumes will include game packs and patches which can be useful for the players who will be purchasing the volumes.
Each volume also includes a special digital jacket, bonus features like the opening video of the anime, and the original soundtrack of the series.
Hortensia Saga also branched out into manga as it enters into an adaptation via a manga series which will be serialized by Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine as announced by the same magazine last year where Pon Jea and Seiji will bring into the pages the story of the kingdom. Media Factory holds the official publishing house of the manga series.
The manga series will be a seinen manga which has a target audience of young men adults the Monthly Comic Alive magazine is a seinen manga magazine that specifically caters to interests of men and older demographics of men ages 18 to 45.
The original run of the manga series is from March 27, 2020, to the present which means that the manga is just at the start and is definitely ongoing.
