Mo Dao Zu Shi or Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation Season 3 has been back for quite some time. Since the first season aired back in 2018, the worldbuilding, morally grey main character, storyline, and well-written queer romance have won over many fans, who might worry if there is an English dub of Mo Dao Zu Shi, and when will it release. Find out below!

For the uninitiated, Mo Dao Zu Shi is the non-linear story of Wei Wuxian, the titular Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. In a world where magically gifted and trained individuals known as cultivators rid the world from the dead who won't otherwise rest, Wei Wuxian founded the Demon Sect. In doing so, he used the zombie-like monsters his people would fight, committing many taboo acts.

While his intentions were largely good, as he gave his people a fighting chance against the treacherous Wen clan, Wei Wuxian unintentionally caused great pain through the unorthodox path he forged, resulting in his death at the hand of someone he considered family. 13 years later, he was summoned by a young man who had been horribly abused and dismissed by his clan as mad.

Having a body once more, Wei Wuxian must come to terms with his past. When he reunites with Lan Wangji, a co-student from his cultivator days, with whom he always had a complicated relationship, to say the least, the two embark on a journey to untangle a mystery that might shed light on many past events – including the death of Wei Wuxian.

At the time of writing, Mo Dao Zu Shi is available to watch online with English subtitles on Tencent's overseas streaming platform WeTV. Some episodes are also available to stream legally on Tencent's YouTube channel. Unfortunately for those who prefer donghua and anime in English, Mo Dao Zu Shi hasn't gotten the dub treatment yet.

As anime becomes more popular in China, Donghua are likely to grow as well, with more works getting dubs to make them more accessible to audiences worldwide. If a dub of Mo Dao Zu Shi is announced, we will update this space with all the relevant information.
