Kylo Ren Is Empire Magazine’s Seventh Greatest Movie Villain

It looks like Star Wars Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) has been voted as the seventh-greatest movie villain of all-time.

Readers of Empiremagazine just voted sequel trilogy baddie Kylo Ren as the seventh greatest movie villain in the history o f cinema. First introduced in J.J. Abram's The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren was a complex villain who seemed to favor the doings of his grandfather, Darth Vader. Later on, Star Wars fans learn more about the different layers underneath Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, seeing how the villain becomes who he is after his Jedi Master uncle tries to kill him in the dark of night.

A highly complex and complicated villain, Kylo Ren places seventh in Empire's list, keeping ahead of classic movie villains like Harry Potter's Voldemort and the Alien franchise's Xenomorph. The villains above Ren are also deserving of their place – there's the classic villain, Darth Vader, Heath Ledger's complex Joker, Loki, Hans Gruber, Hannibal Lecter and of course, Hans Landa.

The list comes as a result of a poll which Empire launched on December 15 last year, the same day Lucasfilm released The Last Jedi in cinemas. Though The Force Awakens might have a hand at Kylo Ren's tally, it seems like most fans might have voted for Kylo Ren after seeing him struggle in The Last Jedi. Some Star Wars fans might have some complaints about the film, but there's a lot of praise going around for Driver's performance.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently screening in cinemas.
