A live-action Star Wars series following Obi-Wan Kenobi is in development for Disney+ which sees the return of Ewan McGregor to reprise the iconic role. However, will Hayden Christensen ever return as Anakin Skywalker for the show? A new rumor says it's possible.

According to LRM, their sources claim the producers are currently in talks with Christensen to reprise his role for the Disney+ series. That said, how big his role will be is still unclear. The outlet says this hasn't been confirmed by the studio yet, but it was supposed to be announced at the Star Wars Celebration along with the Rosario Dawson casting for The Mandalorian. LRM also pointed out that the event hasn't been canceled yet, hence there's no confirmation yet.

While this is certainly good news for Christensen's fans, this is only a rumor and it should be taken with a grain of salt. That being said, if the actor were to return for the Kenobi series, it'll likely by a flashback sequence or a voice cameo. After all, he had already become Darth Vader the time the series is set and that he did the latter in a pivotal scene in The Rise of Skywalker.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series is scheduled to start production in early 2021. The only confirmed cast so far is McGregor for the Jedi Master role.
