Star Wars Actor John Boyega Shows the Struggle Working on The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars fans might dream of becoming an extra on set of a Star Wars film or series, but it isn't all fun and games working on the production of a new Star Wars title.

Celebrating May the Fourth with fans online, Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy star John Boyega (Finn) decided to take to Instagram to share a few photos and videos taken from behind the scenes of The Rise of Skywalker. This includes a video of the Star Wars actor together with Oscar Isaac on set with a whole lot of wind and sand.

"Happy Star Wars day everyone! Here's myself and Oscar chilling during a sandstorm! We couldn't shoot ?? good times though ❤️❤️❤️," Boyega wrote in the caption of the post.

In the video, fans get to see Boyega and Isaac hiding underneath a blanket, waiting for the sandstorm to pass.

"I'm scared. I can't see anything," Isaac jokes, speaking in a whiney voice. Boyega laughs openly at Isaac's antics.

It really isn't easy working on a Star Wars movie. The franchise often films in difficult terrain, oftentimes to mimic the desolate planets in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away. Lucasfilm shoots Star Wars scenes in deserts, glaciers, jungles, jagged islands – and sometimes it poses as a struggle for the cast and crew of the film.

Glad to see that Boyega and the rest of the Star Wars team managed to work despite the sandstorm on set of Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available for streaming on Disney+.
