Avengers star Jeremy Renner thinks that having a spinoff focused on his character Hawkeye and Scarlett Johanssen's Black Widow would do really well for the Marvel franchise.
While most of Marvel's fans have been hoping for a solo film for the jaded but resourceful female lead, it seems like Renner has been hoping to have his character get teamed up with Black Widow in a new Marvel Spinoff.
Speaking with Metro, a British newspaper publication, Edmonton Sun reveals that Renner believes that it would be great to have Hawkeye and Black Widow get a movie together since they already have so much history.
"I always thought it would make sense early on to do a Hawkeye/Widow movie because they're quite similar - they don't have powers, have high skill sets, and have history together, but I don't think there are any discussions about that happening," Renner explained. "I'd love to do it though."
Renner also talked about the work the Avengers cast have been doing for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, saying that they've already shot scenes in London and then will be moving to Atlanta to do two back-to-back bits.
Speaking about working with the rest of the Avengers stars, Renner also reveals:
"We've become great friends. I see Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Scarlett Johansson quite a lot. Chris Hemsworth has been so busy I haven't hung out with him for a while and Elizabeth Olsen is a neighbour, so I see her quite often."
While Marvel hasn't discussed any spinoff films for Black Widow and Hawkeye yet, many Marvel fans may agree that the two Avengers deserve their own solo films and that it would be pretty interesting to see the work the two do for S.H.I.E.L.D.
Avengers: Infinity War is slated for release on the big screen on May 4, 2018.
