Chilling Reign, the new expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, is now available at most local retailers. The latest expansion features 190 brand new cards, and the set, which was inspired by the Crown Tundra DLC of Pokemon Sword and Shield, introducees Galarian variants of Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and two different Calyrex forms.
Chilling Reign also features 70 Rapid Strike and Single Strike cards, which can be used in combination with other cards of the same style for stronger synergy in your deck.
The new Pokemon TCG set also features alternate-art cards as Secret Rare and full-art cards. These cards are selling for huge prices on secondary markets. The most sough-after cards in the expansion include the alternate full-art versions of Galarian Moltres V and Galarian Zapdos V, and the he alternate-art Secret Rare Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX, and alternate-art Secret Rare Blaziken VMAX card. These cards are selling for $100 or more on the secondary market.

Over the past 18 months, demand for Pokemon cards and other trading card game products have increased, and the COVID-19 pandemic has caused production delays and other complications, causing major retailers like Target to halt the sale of Pokemon cards. One man even pulled a gun in a Target parking lot over Pokemon cards.
Other Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion releasing later this year is Evolving Skies, which will reintroduce Dragon-type Pokemon cards. There will also be a 25th Anniversary set, and a new style of V-UNION card which consists of one Pokemon made up of four different cards.
