The Magic: The Gathering Mythic Championship VII was originally expected to bring together 68 players to compete for their share of the $750,000 prize pool, but qualifier George Kaschihin, one of the 36 MCVII Challengers, has been removed from the MTG Arena Championship roster.
Wizards of the Coast recently announced that Kaschihin won't be attending due to a visa delay. "With insufficient time to accommodate to a new competitor, the event will proceed with 67 total players and Kashichin will be invited to the first Mythic Invitational of 2020," WotC said.
Kashihin's absence from the 68-player tournament means that a player, other than the four MPL Division winners from the Throne of Eldraine split, may receive a day-one bye, and that could impact the Challenger Mythic Points race and who ends up making it to the top-16 at MCVII.
Last October, Kaschihin qualified for MCVII through the Magic Arena Mythic Qualifiers. He finished 4th place using his Sultai Food deck.
The Mythic Championship VII will take place at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California on December 6-8. The format of the three-day Magic Arena tournament is Traditional Best-of-Three Constructed Standard.
