Magic: The Gathering'sCore Set 2021 has a new red weapon against Planeswalkers and creatures with Indestructible, and it's called Soul Sear, a three-to-cast (2R) Instant spell that deals 5 damage to target creature or planeswalker, and that permanent loses Indestructible until end of turn. This card will most likely see play in competitive Standard, and red archetypes would probably include this card in their sideboard against planeswalker-heavy decks or decks that have problematic creatures.
This is a great removal spell for three mana. It's better than Fry or Final Flare because it has no limitations and its mana cost is reasonable.
Core Set 2021 is set to release on July 3 with Prerelease events scheduled from June 26 to July 2.
