At the time of this article's publication, Drama House and JTBC Studios haven't officially renewed Sisyphus: The Myth for Season 2. Although the finale of Sisyphus leaves enough open plot lines for a sequel season to explore, at this point it's still unclear if the sci-fi k-drama will get a new season. Based on the ending of Season 1, it looks like Sigma, the antagonist from the future who has been manipulating past events in his favor, may not be entirely gone.

Does Sisyphus: The Myth deserve to be renewed for Season 2?

Although the official Netflix viewership statistics for Sisyphus: The Myth are not available to the public, Sisyphus Season 1 has performed fairly well in South Korea, with episodes ranking on average of 4th place in the national standards. If the fanbase demands Season 2, there's a strong chance that the series will return, but with many critics saying that it has a lackluster plot and uninspiring characters, should it get a new season?

Personally, I think they should just make a brand new series with more developed characters and a more refined plot than Sisyphus: The Myth Season 1, but if a second season would exceed viewers' expectations, maybe they should go for it.
