Strixhaven: School of Mages Will Reportedly Have 5 Magic: The Gathering Commander Decks


Now that the Viking-inspired Magic: The Gathering set is out, fans are already looking foward to the release of the next Standard legal expansion, Strixhaven: School of Mages. Although Wizards of the Coast hasn't revealed any new details or cards from Strixhaven, fans are already expecting new Strixhaven: School of Mages Commander decks that will be released along with the main set. Now, it looks like there will be a total of five new preconstructed Commander decks that will be released with Strixhaven.

Over on Reddit, user plaatjes shared a screenshot of what appears to be description of the Strixhaven: School of Mages Commander deck displays, and it reveals the amount of 5 deck displays.

These five Commander decks might be the new Commander 2021 decks tied to Strixhaven, similar to how Commander 2020 decks were tied to Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths last year. There's no word yet on what each of these Commander decks contains but some fans are already speculating that each of them represents a combination of Shard colors instead of one of the five colors of Magic. They may also represent the five schools of the Strixhaven university.
