Casting of Cable and Domino in Deadpool 2 Will Blow Our Minds

The casting of Cable and Domino in Deadpool 2 is guaranteed to be mind-blowing, says Rob Liefield, the creator of the Merc with the Mouth. Though names have not been given yet, and 20th Century Fox is understandably tight-lipped about the situation, Liefield was speaking from an insider perspective who has a first-hand knowledge on what the creative guys involved with the movie are doing.

Any leaks or rumors about the casting of these two formidable characters in Deadpool's life is bound to generate interest. There was a time that Hellboy star Ron Perlman was the favorite choice for Cable. However, reports say that Pierce Brosnan is on his way to inking a deal. Meanwhile, actresses like Mackenzie Davis and Ruby Rose had allegedly tested for the part of Domino.

In an interview with Splash Report, Liefield is very happy about what Fox is doing with the casting of the two anti-heroes:

"The casting of Cable and Domino is going to blow people's minds. When they put those actors faces with those characters they're going to freak out and no, I don't have names yet, I'm just saying specifically when they connect … When Cable had to face and Domino had to face then it becomes real. They're happening, they're coming and you can anticipate how wonderfully they're going to interact with Deadpool."

Deadpool is of course Ryan Reynolds and regardless of how famous the actors playing Cable and Domino are, they'll have to hold their own against him. And that means infusing a lot of wit, fun, and excitement into the action and the drama.

Liefield is also adamant about what a Deadpool 2 movie should not become:

"...that DC approach is never going to happen to a Deadpool film. Where they completely forgot to have fun in Batman v Superman."

We don't see that happening, either - especially not with Reynolds as the main man. Some things that set his superhero movie different from the rest were its ballsy humor, irreverent digs at his fellow heroes, and outright talking to the audience. Relive the moments in the clip below.

Deadpool 2 is set for a March 2, 2018 release.
