America’s Got Talent Season 16 is nearing its end with the final performances airing on Tuesday, Sept. 14. After several weeks of showcasing the best of the best, only one act will be crowned as the winner and will bring home the $1 million grand prize.
For the first time ever in the history of America’s Got Talent, two comedians will be competing in the finals. Josh Blue and Gina Brillon have become instant fan favorites because of their hilarious jokes and captivating personalities.
The two comedians' style is quite different, but they also share one thing in common: they are able to make fun of their personal struggles and insecurities.
Throughout the season, Blue utilized his physical deformity to entertain viewers. The dad of two has Cerebral Palsy, but he has stressed multiple times on the show that he’s just like anyone else.
In fact, Blue is a member of the US Paralympic Soccer Team. And his involvement in the sport was what he used for his act in the semi-finals.
In fact, he’s one of the few finalists that immediately earned a spot in the finale. He didn’t have to fight for his life in the Instant Save.
Gina Brillon is another comedian competing for the $1 million grand prize in America's Got Talent Season 16. The funny woman uses her physical appearance as the subject of her jokes.
In one of her acts, Brillon shared a conversation she had with a kid that called her ugly. Another person also called her “fat little kid” in Spanish. The comedian didn’t seem offended by the remark, and she hilariously said that all she was thinking of at the time is food.
Every now and then, Brillon would also make jokes about her heritage and even her marriage. And just like Blue, she earned a spot in the finals without having to fight for her life in the Instant Save.
Other than Blue and Brillon, there are also some fan favorites on America’s Got Talent Season 16 this season.
Self-taught aerialist Aidan Bryant received rave reviews from the judges following his performances. Cowell, Klum, Vergara, and Mandel are all impressed with the fact that he’s not professionally trained. The teenager learned how to do scary aerial stunts after watching videos on YouTube.
Indigenous pop star Brooke Simpson has also been making her community and the rest of the world very proud. Following all her performances, Simpson received nothing but positive comments from the judges. She also earned a standing ovation from them.
Which America’s Got Talent Season 16 contestant are you rooting for? This season’s winner will be named on Wednesday, Sept. 15 on NBC after the final performances on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
