Fans are still buzzing about Gina Carano's shocking ousting from Lucasfilm and understandably so. The former mixed martial arts fighter was "unceremoniously" dropped from her Star Wars contract following her controversial social media posts that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
Following the incident, Carano would later break her silence and expose Disney and Lucasfilm's abusive ways, calling them "bullies" during her highly publicized appearance on The Ben Shapiro Show. In the said interview, the ex-Cara Dune actress let loose, saying that she'll stand up to them when no one else could and that she's not going down without a fight.
Surprisingly enough, Gina's co-stars and colleagues have been suspiciously silent about the issue but one of the show's recurring stars couldn't help but sound off amid the actress' controversial removal from the hit Disney+ show. Actor Bill Burr, who played the fan-favorite villain-turned-good-guy character Migs Mayfeld defended Carano following the incident and believes that Lucasfilm's decision to fire her from the show over her personal opinions was uncalled for.
In a recent appearance on The Bill Bert Podcast (via Bounding Into Comics), Burr had some choice words for the company. He says: "It's a weird time. I don't know. Unless she did some truly horrible sh*t. I don't know. I don't know what the f*ck it is. I'm on that f*cking show. Now, I gotta watch what the f*ck I say."
Burr later praised Carano and called her "an absolute sweetheart" and a "super nice f*cking person." He continued: And you know, whatever, and somehow someone will take this video and they'll make me say something else and try to get rid of my bald action figure. That's how it is out there. It's f*cking crazy time. People just waiting, laying in the weeds. Now it's becoming like, ‘Hey you made an ignorant comparison'. There goes your dream, right? I look at that and it's like, ‘Who the f*ck stands up to that?'.
Burr standing up for her co-star is admirable and it's only natural that he feels bummed out about Carano's firing. However, I don't think it's a smart choice to call out Disney and Lucasfilm and imply that he agrees with Carano's claims. Whether his statement affects his place in The Mandalorian or not remains to be seen but don't act all that surprised if Migs Mayfeld doesn't show up in Season 3.
The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin filming this April.
