Marvel Studios' Loki may be coming to an end a week from now but worry not, MCU fans as the highly-anticipated What If...? series will finally be making its premiere next month.
The animated series, as the title suggests will feature alternate versions of our favorite Marvel characters — from Peggy Carter becoming Captain Carter to T'Challa becoming Star-Lord. Ahead of its August release, the studio finally released its official trailer and it's already looking mind-blowingly good.

The said teaser features snippets from every episode of the series, confirming the return of several actors like Chris Hemsworth, Hayley Atwell, and the late Chadwick Boseman who are voicing their live-action counterparts.
Shockingly enough, one of the forefathers of the MCU Robert Downey Jr. is not returning to voice Iron Man despite the character appearing on more than one occasion in the show. Check out the trailer here:
As upsetting as it is, Marvel has a valid reason for choosing to recast Downey instead of asking him to do the project. For starters, the actor is obviously no longer tied to an MCU contract after he made his final appearance in Avengers: Endgame. It's safe to assume that getting RDJ's services for What If...? would cost the studio a lot of money even if it was just a one-off appearance because let's face it, he is a bonafide megastar.
Also, if it wasn't obvious enough, RDJ has totally moved on from his MCU stint so it makes total sense for him not to be involved in the series.
What If...? will premiere on August 11 only on Disney+.
