2020 may have been a huge disappointment for the entire entertainment industry but it still marked a massive turning point for Marvel as the comic book giant finally got back the rights to the Daredevil character after the Netflix deal officially expired which means Matt Murdock could now appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, this begs the question: when could the Man Without Fear make his highly anticipated MCU debut? Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige sounded off regarding the status of the crime-fighting vigilante and it doesn't look all that promising. In an interview with ComicBook, Feige addressed the future of the Marvel Netflix shows and if the actors who played The Defenders could eventually turn up in the MCU.

He shared: "I look at anything that's happened before, whether it's our movies, whether it's Marvel Entertainment TV series, and, particularly, obviously, the comics, video games, cartoons ... all of it is available as inspiration for the future of Marvel."

Regarding the fan-favorite Charlie Cox who fans have been dying to see appear in the billion-dollar franchise as Daredevil, Feige tried his best to avoid making a comment. A lot of fans have speculated in the past that Feige doesn't really like Netflix's Marvel shows and its actors. Screen Junkies' Honest Trailer even poked fun at it but we don't know for sure.

While it's safe to assume that Feige has no interest in bringing in Cox and would opt to cast a new Daredevil, we have to take into consideration that Marvel tends to be secretive about their projects and most importantly its cast members. I, for one, would love to see Charlie continue his exploits as Matt Murdock, and quite frankly, it would be a crime if he doesn't end up reprising the role in the MCU. The same can be said for his Defenders castmates.

Meanwhile, the MCU's fourth phase kicks off tomorrow, January 15 via WandaVision.
