Tony Stark's departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still a hard pill to swallow for some people but considering the fact that anything can happen in the Marvel universe, fans have long been entertaining the idea of Stark being brought back from the dead which, of course, if Marvel Studios wanted to, they could in just a snap of a finger.

Turns out, that's not the case and as of now, there are no plans to bring Iron Man back in the billion-dollar franchise — not anytime soon, at least. That's according to Marvel Executive Victoria Alonso who recently spoke with Clarin to address the fate of the MCU's patriarch following his heroic and emotional death in Avengers: Endgame. She said: "Tony Stark is dead, and that's our story ... He left his inheritance in Spider-Man. So you see a lot of what Tony Stark would have been in Peter Parker."

Sure, it'd be so easy for the writers of Marvel Studios to resurrect Tony Stark and have him lead the Avengers once again but a move as crucial as that would only create a ton of problems that could affect and even harm the future of the franchise. While I'd love nothing more than to see him back in the MCU, it's absolutely pointless now, and not only that, but it would only diminish the value of his heroic act in Endgame. I think it's time to move on to bigger things and let Robert Downey Jr. have his well-deserved superhero break.

Speaking of the MCU, Phase 4 kicks off with WandaVision, coming to Disney+ on January 15, 2021.
