Fans have been trying to uncover references and easter eggs from The Mandalorian Season 2's premiere episode, and while they were successful in spotting a handful of "hidden" stuff from the first episode, some of the theories that surfaced online were just a little too farfetched to be true. Take for instance one persistent rumor suggesting that Darth Maul voice actor Sam Witwer actually made a cameo appearance in Chapter 9 as a Mos Pelgo resident.

Apparently, that is not the case as Witwer himself has dismissed the rumors. It all started when IGN posted a list that included the actors who appeared in "The Marshal" episode, with one slide claiming it was The Clone Wars voice actor who made a cameo on the show. The actor in question was actually Josh Moreno who took to Twitter to confirm that it was indeed him who made the appearance and not Witwer. He wrote: "When the Star Wars fandom thinks you’re @SamWitwer but you’re actually just villager # 4"

Sam later responded to the tweet and slammed the website for their false claims. He replied: "I wish IGN would, ya know, do their due diligence and research that my hair isn't blonde... But hey." Whoops. IGN has yet to acknowledge and clarify the mistake. Check out the exchange here:

Let's be real here, mishaps like that happen and are quite unavoidable so I guess all is forgiven. Also, I honestly can't blame anyone for assuming that Witwer was part of the show. After all, his fellow Clone Wars actor, Matt Lanter, who voiced Anakin Skywalker in the hit Star Wars animated show played a small role in Season 1's sixth episode. And considering Witwer's ties with Lucasfilm and director Dave Filoni, the possibility of him appearing in a future season of The Mandalorian will always be there.

Speaking of, The Mandalorian Season 2's second episode drops tomorrow, November 6 on Disney+.
