Not only is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson one of the most charismatic stars in Hollywood, but he's also arguably the most physically imposing actor we have today which is why it isn't so surprising that he was cast as Black Adam in the DC Extended Universe. The project which has been in developmental hell for over a decade finally began filming this month and so far, everything seems to run pretty smoothly and Johnson himself couldn't be more thrilled.

It's common practice in these kinds of projects to make actors wear padded suits, oftentimes for aesthetic purposes and even someone who's as huge as Henry Cavill had to wear a padded Superman costume in the DCEU. Shazam! actor Zachary Levi drew flak for wearing a padded suit and was berated by fans for not putting in the physical work needed to play a superhero role.

Now, Black Adam producer Dany Garcia is hyping up the film and Johnson's costume and guaranteed fans that the former WWE superstar won't be needing the help of padding to enhance his overall look as the iconic DC anti-hero. In an interview with Variety, Garcia shared that the actor is in tremendous physical shape for the role, having trained extensively before production kicked off. "My husband is DJ's strength and conditioning coach, and they were able to get his physique to the right place with so much time before shooting that. There wasn't a lot of ‘Where are we padding or where are we adding?' and things like that."

The idea of The Rock having to rely on padded costumes sounds utterly silly and we all know he won't be needing them. I'm hoping though that his DCEU "rival" Zachary Levi will put in all the effort to become as physically imposing as the Black Adam actor. Of course, Johnson is quite the specimen and it'll be tough for Levi to keep up but he at least needs to undergo some serious body transformation. Let's face it, if Levi will still be in the same physical shape he was in Shazam!, he honestly wouldn't look like a threat to Dwayne.

Black Adam is slated for release in 2022.
