Todd Phillips' Perfect Response to a Fan Complaining His Joker Isn't Comic-Accurate

The DCEU is finally getting back on its feet, and later this year we'll have the release of Todd Phillips' Joker. While I personally thought the preview looked fantastic, a fan had gone online to complain to Phillips about how the movie didn't seem comic-accurate, to which Phillips had the perfect response.

After Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it seems the phrase "toxic fandom" had found itself being thrown around more. You barely get it from the MCU since everyone is basically happy with what they get, but it's been prevalent with franchises like Star Wars and DC where fans are convinced that they know the best way to move forward with the properties.

If anything, I think these angry fans just need to take things a little less seriously. Sure it sounds noble to stick to things you love, but when you start spewing hate because it didn't go your way or whatever, it kind of just ruins it for everyone. Hopefully, with people aware of "toxic fandom" now, we can further address it (and hopefully fix it) moving forward.

Going back to Joker though, I'm actually impressed that WB decided to take this risk with Phillips. After all the meddling that came out of Suicide Squad and Justice League, I'm happy we're getting a movie that looks to be exactly how the director envisioned it.

Let's hope it manages to be as amazing as the trailer makes it out to be.

Catch Joker in theaters July 2.
