Though con panels are interesting to watch online, a lot of people don't know that it can be a nightmare to get yourself into one—especially when it comes to falling in line. Some people will go so far as to queue themselves overnight to secure a good spot, but this year's Star Wars Celebration is having none of it.
As it turns out, anyone wishing to join the panel will now have to enter a line digitally as compared to having to wait outside in line. This app is apparently called the LightspeedVirtual Panel Resignation. Here's the quick rundown from Star Wars Explained:

I think it's pretty great that Lucasfilm is trying to be a bit more innovative when it comes to the mechanics of something like falling in line. No doubt if this system works, we could be seeing it happen at several other cons, especially something as big as SDCC. Who wants to spend their entire time at a con just standing in line to get to one panel?
No doubt the biggest panel at Celebration will be the Episode IX panel. Not only are attendees expecting a big teaser and title reveal, but an appearance from all the principal actors as well. Who knows, maybe Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams may have some swag for all the attendees of the panel.
Star Wars Celebration takes place April 11–16.
Star Wars Episode IX comes out Dec. 20.
