John Cena Hypes Up James Gunn's The Suicide Squad

James Gunn had teamed up with WWE Superstar Dave Bautista for Guardians of the Galaxy, and now he's working with another pro-wrestler for The Suicide Squad. While we have no official update on the movie from WB, John Cena takes the time to hype up Gunn's DC entry.

Talking to Collider, Cena hypes up the script for The Suicide Squad. He says, "I was blown away. The first 10 pages [are] like a movie in itself. It's really, really special. That's because the guy steering the ship [Gunn] is committed to narrative and committed to creating characters that we connect with and sending them on an awesome journey. I mean what he did with [Guardians of the Galaxy] is really special."

Cena goes on about Gunn's enthusiasm when it comes to work, and says that he's very pleased to have ended up working with him. "You want go to work with people who jump out of bed every day and want to go to work… [Gunn] is the epitome of that," said Cena.

While we don't have any specifics on the plot of The Suicide Squad, we do know the cast. Besides Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman reprising their roles from the first movie, we also have new characters incoming. Cena has been cast in the role of Peacemaker, and though we don't have details yet, I'm sure he's going to be great in it. Besides being a solid action star, Cena has proven he can deliver jokes pretty well too.
