Jared Leto’s method acting and the weird gifts he gave to his Suicide Squad co-stars has been pretty much shared by most of the cast members already. But now Viola Davis, who plays the ruthless, high-ranking government official Amanda Waller in the movie, has spoken up about her experience and how it “got her stuff together.”

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the multi-award winning actress revealed her own crazy experience with Leto even before meeting the actor. The actress explained how Leto’s henchman dropped a dead pig on the table of the rehearsal room and just left. At first, Davis immediately thought of how Leto was completely crazy, but she added that it made her realize how it shows real commitment to the role.

Now I'm terrified as a person thinking 'Is he crazy?' but the second part was 'Oh shit! I got to have my stuff together.' You talk about commitment and then he sends Margot Robbie a black rat. It was still alive in a box. She screamed, and then she kept it.

Watch the interview for yourself:

Although Amanda Waller isn’t a character with superpowers in Suicide Squad, Davis’ role is perhaps the craziest character in the bunch for having brought together an ensemble of antiheroes and making them work for the government. If anything, Leto’s stunt was pivotal to her commitment to the sinister role. Waller is clearly someone who gets what she wants and would do anything to get it.

Apart from Davis, the Suicide Squad cast includes Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (the Joker), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo), and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agdaje (Killer Croc).

Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 5.
