It has been a long time since we saw Samuel L. Jackson in a Star Wars film. He also wasn’t in the latest installment in the space opera saga – The Force Awakens. However, that doesn’t mean the 67-year-old actor isn’t thinking of joining the franchise again, even if his character, Jedi Master Mace Windu, was killed off in Revenge of the Sith.

In fact, the actor revealed on a recent appearance in the Graham Norton Show (via The Irish Examiner) that he was the one who told Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill that a new Star Wars movie is in the works.

Jackson shared:

I was waiting for the call. I had a conversation with Mark Hamill about it when they were auditioning people for Jedis and I said we should go over to the studio and see if we could get in the movie.

He didn’t even know there was a movie and then he ends up in it! But who knows, there’s like 30 more movies coming – I’ll find my way back in somewhere!

I don’t see this far from happening. Disney did confirm back in January that there is going to be an infinite number of Star Wars movies.

While Mace Windu’s appearance in The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith weren’t long, the character had definitely been pivotal to the transformation of Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader. If rumors of the potential return of Hayden Christensen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are true, then we could see the appearance of Jackson’s Mace Windu there as well.

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One on May 6 at 10:40 p.m.
