Zoe Saldaña Compares Filming Experience On The Adam Project and The Guardians of The Galaxy

Zoe Saldaña is now starring in Netflix's new SciFi-adventure film, The Adam Project. Alongside Saldaña, he is joined by an ensemble cast featuring Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, Walker Scobell, Jennifer Garner, and lead star Ryan Reynolds. The Adam Project follows Ryan Reynold's Adam, a time-traveling pilot after having a flying disaster and looks for help from his 12-year-old self. The film will also reunite Reynolds with the acclaimed director Shawn Levy after their previous film, Free Guys.

Saldaña rounds out the cast as Reynolds' love interest from the future, and also a highly-skill mercenary like his MCU role as Gamora in MCU's Guardians Of The Galaxy series. While Gamora is Saldaña's most iconic role, the actress also starred in numerous action-adventure films like Pirates of The Caribbean, Star Trek, and James Cameron's Avatar.

In an interview with Syfy Wire, while promoting her latest film, The Adam Project, Saldaña compares her filming experience with The Adam Project and her time with James Gunn's Guardians of The Galaxy. The actress explained,

"I find it more rewarding [to act in movies based on original ideas] because it’s such a blank canvas, and you get to really pepper in the layers that you imagine for it. There’s something really fascinating about working with original content that makes me really look at the filmmaker with so much more reverence. I like working on Guardians of the Galaxy because James Gunn still also manages to protect some of the innovation and makes it very nuanced. That was also lovely. But I like working on things that were conceived out of thin air."

While Netflix has been producing high-quality films over the years and competing for audience share, seeing Saldaña in a Netflix original film is a breath of fresh air, not just for the fans but also for the actress. After starring in different franchises like Star Trek and Marvel Cinematic Studios, Saldaña's acting career has been really going well.

Aside from The Adam Project, Saldaña is confirmed to reprise her role as Neytiri in James Cameron's Avatar sequel, and will also star in James Gunn's Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3, which is reported to be the franchise's last film.
