Weekly Magic: The Gathering story shorts are returning, depicting events from the new Zendikar Rising set, and Wizards of the Coast has released the first episode on Daily MTG.
MTG lore in recent years has been a mess, with failed novels and lack of story details in Theros Beyond Death. Now the lore is bringing back the kind of lore many fans enjoyed. The first episode features Nissa and Nahiri, two Planeswalkers with cards featured in the upcoming set.
The new story opens with Nahiri inviting Nissa to embark on an adventure to the ancient Kor ruins called Skyclaves.
Two MTG lore episodes will be released each week: a feature episode every Wednesday and a side story every Friday.
Zendikar Rising is set to release on September 25, 2020; it will release on MTG Arena on Sept. 17.
