Zack Snyder recently opened up about the Russo Brothers' MCU return in the upcoming Avengers movies.
A few weeks ago, Marvel Studios announced the exciting news that the directing duo is making their return to the MCU to helm the upcoming Avengers movies that will also bring back Robert Downey Jr.
Considering the Russo Brothers' past track record in the MCU, their return to the franchise was met with excitement by most fans as they anticipate that they will deliver the same high quality for the upcoming projects.
Zack Snyder Responds to The Russo Brothers' MCU Return
In a recent interview, Snyder was asked to weigh in on the Russo Brothers' recently-announced MCU return in the upcoming Avengers movies.
Despite Snyder being a major figure in the DCEU, he and the duo have become friends in recent years and they even appeared together in a podcast.
"I think that's great for them. They're amazing, and they've done really, I think they've done great work with those guys," the former DCEU director said.
"I'm sure they'll do something amazing. They're talented guys, and I think they'll do something cool. I think it's time to shake it up a little bit,"
It is great to hear that Snyder is supportive of the Russo Brothers' return and he is aware of the high stakes of their comeback in the MCU given where the franchise has been for the past few years.
While bringing back familiar filmmakers from the past might be seen as a safe choice, it does "shake up" (as Snyder said) the MCU again as it could hopefully put the franchise back on track and they could also deliver another set of event movies that fans will love.
So far, the plot details regarding the upcoming Avengers movies are still under wraps, but fans are hoping that the Russo Brothers' return will live up to the hype.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release in theaters on May 1, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled for release on May 7, 2027.
