Zack Snyder Shares What He Thinks About The Batman Trailer

While a lot of people are celebrating the return of Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder's Justice League, 2021, will also feature the debut of Robert Pattinson's own take on the Dark Knight. Though Snyder himself being very vocal about how Affleck is ‘his' Batman, he does say he's excited to see Matt Reeves' version of the character.

Talking to the Reel in Motion podcast (via CinemaBlend), Snyder commented:

"I dunno what the rating is going to be but I felt the same way (watching Batman beat the goon). I was like what the…I actually just texted Matt (Reeves) after and I was like, ‘What the f***! This is cool!... I loved it. I thought it was so cool. I thought it was like the right direction and everything about it. As far as just a fan of a movie, it's the kind of movie I want to see, so I felt like (two thumbs up). Yes, please."

While I don't expect Snyder to be as classless as to trash the film, I think his reaction to the trailer is very earnest, considering that everyone else loved what they saw with the preview. While he may not have a superhero suit like Batfleck, Battinson does don some more practical-looking gear, and unlike previous versions where Batman lives in a fancy mansion and has a full armory, this Batman looks to live in a run-down Wayne Manor and all his things seem to have been cobbled up from what he could find.

That's what the trailer looks like anyway. With Bruce Wayne still looking to be a socialite in Gotham, it's very likely he still has the more privileged part of his life intact.

For now, The Batman is set to come out on Oct. 1, 2021. Zack Snyder's Justice League hits HBO Max sometime early in the same year.
