Zack Snyder On His Favorite Spider-Man Actor And Movie

Marvel might have a slew of superheroes, but only a few has as many live-action standalone films as Spider-Man. Ever since 2002 there have been six different Spider-man movies with three different actors playing everyone's friendly neighbourhood web-slinger. There's been Tobey McGuire who played Spidey in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, Andrew Garfield who suited up as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man movies, and Tom Holland, Marvel Studio's Spider-Man.

Speaking with fans during his Director's Cuts panel after a screening of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (via ComicBook.com), Zack Snyder was asked by a fan which Spider-Man actor and which film were his favourites. The DC Extended Universe didn't even hesitate when he replied.

"I guess my favorite Spider-Man movie, I guess it was Spider-Man 2," Snyder responded, "There's some really great stuff in that movie, I think it's super cool."

Guess Snyder's more of an old-school Spidey-fan. However, Snyder admits that it's hard picking out a favorite Spider-Man actor, since there have been a lot of great takes on the character.

"I guess it's Tobey, but it's hard because there's been a lot of great Spider-Men," the director says.

McGuire has been an old favorite for many, but right now, most Marvel fans would name Holland as arguably the best of the best. Not only does Holland properly depict Spidey's youthfulness, but he has the same quick wit that the character has in the comics.

A lot of fans named Holland as one of the best things to come out of Captain America: Civil War, and many couldn't help but love his work in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Holland's sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home is set for release on July 5, 2019.
