To a lot of people, Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill is the definitive live-action version of Superman, but his status in the DC Extended Universe remains uncertain. Now, in a stunning new development, WarnerMedia announced last week that they're moving forward with the long-rumored Superman reboot which Star Wars director J.J. Abrams will helm.

Several rumors have since surfaced following the announcement suggesting that Warner Bros. will be casting a black actor to play the mighty Kryptonian. Cavill, on the other hand, has reportedly been waiting to get his proper Man of Steel trilogy but it doesn't seem to be on WB's list of priorities.

Amid all the confusion and worry, director Zack Snyder has expressed his support for Cavill. Both Snyder and Cavill kickstarted the DCEU back in 2013 and the Justice League director has always been behind the British actor.

Taking to his Vero account, Snyder a still from Justice League's Motherbox origins promo and declared the actor as "our Superman". Check out the post here:

I'm not saying I know better but it would be a huge letdown if Warner Bros. lets Henry slip through their fingers. Despite the fact that the DCEU hasn't been as well-received by comic book fans and critics, I still believe that Cavill gave "justice" to the role, and quite frankly, he may actually be the definitive live-action version of the character. All he wants is another shot at the character so please pull the trigger already!

Meanwhile, Zack Snyder's Justice League hits HBO Max this March 18.
