Zachary Levi has yet to reach his peak in the DC Universe but the recent developments in the franchise seem to signal the end for the Shazam! actor. According to the latest rumors, Levi is among the actors who will get the boot from DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran as they're set to unveil their long-term plans for the DCU in the near future.

Despite the ongoing speculation about his DCU status, Zachary has come out on more than one occasion to dispel reports that he's getting ousted from the franchise, much like his contemporaries Henry Cavill and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

In fact, Levi insists that he's going nowhere and will continue playing Shazam under the Gunn and Safran regime. Speaking of the "Earth's Mightiest Mortal", on Twitter, the former Marvel star reposted a tweet from castmate Rachel Zegler who expressed her glee after seeing a poster of Fury of the Gods at a cinema next to a Creed III poster.

Sharing his co-star's enthusiasm ahead of the DCU sequel's release in March, Levi wrote: "Excitement personified" with a hug emoji. Check it out here:

To be fair, Levi has every reason in the world to get excited about Shazam's big screen return because it's been nearly four years since we last saw him in action. And whether or not he stays in the DCU after Fury of the Gods, I'm pretty sure he's just genuinely glad to have been given the opportunity to play the part.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit cinemas on March 17, 2023.
