Captain Marvel is already out in theaters, and next month will see the arrival of the original Captain Marvel in DCEU's Shazam!. Zachary Levi and the rest of the cast are off to promote the film, and we have this new promo of him joking on why Shazam is better than every other member of the Justice League.

While other films of the DCEU have opted to stick to the standalone method moving forward, Shazam! is still filled with multiple references to other heroes. The latest trailer even had Shazam and Sivana fighting in a toy store filled with Justice League toys. I'm still holding out hope that Henry Cavill is going to make a cameo in this movie as Superman, fingers crossed.
Early reactions for Shazam! have been overwhelmingly positive, so we shouldn't be too worried if DC is one again going to stumble with another entry. Unlike the more serious films that have come out before it, Shazam! is set to embrace the action-comedy route, and can very well be the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise of DC. I'm just hoping that the audiences will agree with the critics this time around.
Billy Batson is a streetwise 14-year-old who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.
