Yu Yu Hakusho Possibly Joining Toonami Future Line-up


There is little doubt that Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the true classic anime that withstood the test of time. Although it was released around 30 years ago, the adaptation is still one of the best known animated shows and continues to have a cult following. So is it finally time for Yoshihiro Togashi's work to return to the small screen? Toonami co-creator Jason DeMarco may have confirmed that Yu Yu Hakusho could soon join the programming block's line-up of shows!

Jason DeMarco is the co-creator of Toonami so he should know a lot about what happens in the programming block. This is why a fan reached out to DeMarco in hopes that Yu Yu Hakusho will be brought back to join the program's line-up. Interestingly, the SVP of Action and Anime at WarnerMedia confirmed that it's a huge possibility!

This is exciting news considering that Yu Yu Hakusho is set for a live-action adaptation on Netflix. With that in mind, it's the perfect time for an Underworld Detective revival and we're hoping Toonami adds the anime to its line-up soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Yu Yu Hakusho is based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi and follows the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while attempting to save a child's life. Yusuke undergoes several tests in the afterlife and is revived then appointed an Underworld Detective. His job investigating supernatural cases puts him in the path of an old schoolmate and two demons who help him with the investigations.

For now, Toonami has not yet confirmed Yu Yu Hakusho for its current line-up. However, we could be getting an update in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
