Youtuber Star Wars Theory has threatened to sue Wookieepedia, claiming the SW lore repository defamed and made false accusations about him after a live-streamed watch party for The Acolyte episode four.

Here is what we know happened between the two parties.

Star Wars Theory has been vocal about his dislike of The Acolyte and, during a recent watch party stream, started a debate about Ki-Adi-Mundi's age and accuracy to the timeline after the character had a brief cameo in episode four. His watchers soon alerted him that Wookiepeedia had apparently updated Mundi's birthdate, which got a strong reaction from the YouTuber.

In the stream's comment section, some watchers said they wanted to overload and crash Wookieepedia in support of the YouTuber.

According to the Star Wars database site, this escalated to a torrent of direct messages containing threats and personal attacks on the editors.

In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), a user claims some of the YouTuber’s followers had even been sending death threats to Wookieepedia editors. The SW fandom site confirmed it had been receiving abusive messages through a series of posts, and urged fans to stop.

Shortly after this went down, Star Wars Theory uploaded a video response threatening to take legal action against Wookieepedia for what he claimed were false accusations. The site has yet to respond, but in the meantime has been receiving support from followers on X, who pointed out some of the nuance in the Ki-Adi-Mundi debate.
