A new Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 8 trailer is out, and it hints at Meemaw (Annie Potts) bravely going against what they call the main antagonist of the series, the church.
Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 8 will serve as the series’ half-season finale as the show goes on a holiday break. After the coopers have coped with their new normal, following (Montana Jordan) and Mandy’s (Emily Osment) pregnancy news, the church is back to terrorize them again.
The Church’s Return in Coopers' Lives
It has been weeks since the church meddled with the Coopers’ business, but it looks like the peace within the family is about to end.
Despite the threat of it interfering Meemaw’s video store business, the latter will surely not be alarmed.
Pastor Jeff (Matt Hobby) and his congregation will be after Meemaw’s video store, trying to shut down her business and revealing themselves as the true villain. But in Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 8 trailer, Sheldon’s (Iain Armitage) grandmother is ready to fight off Mary’s (Zoe Perry) church.

Elsewhere, the preview also shows Sheldon’s return to the school and beings to deal with his new program aggregating scholarship grants.
“Sheldon's database invention puts him at odds with the university,” its official synopsis reads, via IMDb. “Also, the church takes issue with Meemaw's video store.”

This year’s final episode will be titled Legalese and a Whole Hoo Ha.
The Church and Mary
Pastor Jeff ruthlessly fired Mary after hearing about Georgie and Mandy’s pregnancy. Though it resulted in financial struggles in the family, the advantages of her being separated from the congregation dramatically outweighed the disadvantages.
Mary has been more relaxed and fun since she left the church. It even resulted in having a more peaceful Cooper household.

She, too, has been more accommodating to her kids and affectionate toward George (Lance Barber). However, it remains to be seen how Mary will react when Meemaw begins to conflict with the church.
This may ignite her return to church, siding with Pastor Jeff, which may also mean her old ways will return.
Young Sheldon Season 6 Episode 8 will be out on Thursday, December 8.
