David Boreanaz seems to have a change of heart and is now interested in reprising his role as Seeley Booth in the possible Bones revival than his titular role in Angel.

Boreanaz took a stroll down memory lane and reflected on his past famous roles. Though he said earlier he wouldn’t do a Bones revival, he would rather choose it than be a vampire again in Angel.

David Boreanaz Open to Doing Bones Revival

The 53-year-old was famous for his role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s (Sarah Michelle Gellar) boyfriend back in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. He then played the role of Seeley, leaving the strongest impression as an FBI agent in Bones.

Though he already cleared that he would rather focus on doing new projects than revisiting an old show, he would be more interested in a Bones revival than Angel.

In an interview with The AV Club to promote SEAL Team Season 6, the actor said Seeley’s chemistry and banter with Emily Deschanel’s Temperance Brennan was a “draw” and would be more realistic than doing an Angel revival. He admitted he now looks older and vampires are known for not aging.

“You know, as time progresses, you just don’t have that youthful look that you had in your late 20s and early 30s. But then again, he was a 242-year-old vampire with a soul,” he said.

“That would make him probably, like, 260-something with a soul now. So, I don’t know how that would look,” he added. “Seeley Booth, I think, may be a little bit more intriguing — as far as getting back to see where he’s at with Temperance Brennan. And that banter. You just can’t beat that. I think that may be more of a realistic approach, as far as I’m concerned.”

Emily Deschanel Hints at Interest in Doing Bones Revival

One of the famous roles Deschanel played on screen is Temperance Brennan in the 12-season Bones.

So, is she open to doing a revival of it?

“You know, I think it’s always possible,” she told TVLine. “David Boreanaz said, ‘Nope,’ he’s not doing it, but never say never for me. I don’t know, it’s possible; I’d be open, I don’t know.”

As two of the show’s protagonists, ScreenRant noted that a Bones revival would only be possible if Deschanel and Boreanaz returned to reprise their roles.

However, as the series only ended in 2017, five years may not be enough to hype up the show’s return.

It’s also good to note that Deschanel and Boreanaz are busy doing their own shows, Devil in Ohio and SEAL Team, respectively. So, they don’t have the time to do a Bones revival yet.
