Disney's Live-Action Mulan Gets Delayed and Guess Why

Disney has decided to postpone the release of their live-action Mulan movie and you'll never guess why. Was it due to the lead actor's controversial statements about the Hong Kong police? Close but not really, the movie was delayed for the most obvious reason ever; the Coronavirus. This has been the "trend" for many events, whether they be sports, video game conventions, or cooking contests.

On Instagram, director Niki Caro broke the news and seemed genuinely heartbroken about it. Caro claims it was a satisfying and exhilarating experience but it's one that many Disney fans are going to have to wait for, due to this worldwide epidemic. Admittedly, it's hard not to feel some sympathy for the people involved, even after actress Liu Yifei's comments mentioned above.

Some fans have wondered why Disney won't just release the movie on their Disney Plus streaming service, especially since it's home to films like Stargirl and the "live-action" Lady and the Tramp remake. However, Disney did previously state that they want the movie-going public to witness the event, hence the delay.

Basically, they want some of your hard-earned cash and not just the sum that comes from a Disney Plus subscription, especially since the numbers are down after The Mandalorian ended its first season.

No new release date for the live-action Mulan movie has been announced.
