The third installment of Netflix's You will be coming out in October. One of the things that fans are looking forward to discovering is Joe Goldberg's (Penn Badgley) mysterious neighbor who was shown at the Season 2 finale.
Joe and Love (Victoria Pedretti) are preparing themselves to start a family. In the last season, Joe was about to kill Love after learning that she killed his neighbor Delilah (Carmela Zumbado). He cares a lot about Ellie (Jenna Ortega) and he knows that her only family is her big sister, Delilah.
Love stopped him by admitting that she is pregnant with their child. The thought of being a dad moved Joe, so he didn't kill Love. However, he doesn't want to be with Love anymore and feels that he is stuck with her — something which Joe is not really good at.
The last scene in the finale shows Joe looking through the gap in his garden fence. It seems that Joe is interested in his next-door neighbor. His fascination toward her was visible, but the face of the woman was never shown. The season ended with a cliffhanger surrounding the identity of Joe and Love's mysterious neighbor. So, who is she?

Several fans speculate that the woman living next door is Joe's mom, Sandy (Magda Apanowicz). Joe witnessed how his mom was physically abused growing up and that influenced him on how he handles relationships.
Although Joe's mom is expected to appear in You Season 3, in a series of flashbacks explaining Joe's personality, the mysterious neighbor is not her.
