You Can Buy A Full-Sized R2-D2 Droid Made Like The One In The Movies At Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge For A Crazy Amount

There is a lot to see and buy at Star Wars: Galaxy Edge including a working R2 droid.

According to the folks over at Slash Film, visitors will be able to purchase build and take home your very own R2 unit at the Droid Depot shop for a whopping $25,000. For that massive price tag, you get a life-sized remote control R2 droid that you yourself can design.

Unlike the less expensive models, this one actually moves around like it would in the films or the ones they bring along at Comic-Cons and premieres. This means that it beeps and the aluminum head rotates. The lights on the panel also work and there are actual electronics. You also get a wireless remote control and charger with your purchase. Apparently, you can have some level of interaction with your R2 unit too because it comes with a restraining bolt to keep the unit under control.

Unfortunately, you can't use your Annual Passholder discount or Cast Member to purchase the R2 droid at a discounted price, which someone would sorely need or love to take advantage of considering the price tag on this thing. You have to buy it full price, and keep in mind that $25,000 is just the price of the unit. Shipping and tax are not included yet.

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is the only place you can buy this fully functional R2 unit. Other expensive merchandise on offer at the attraction include a complete First Order Stormtrooper armor set, which will set you back for $6,615, a Kylo Ren mask as seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens for $750, and a Poe Dameron helmet replica over for $650.

Jedi robes, legacy lightsabers, collectible busts of popular Star Wars characters will also be available at Galaxy's Edge. Life-sized figures, wearables, and statues are also being sold at the park.
