Yoon Kye Sang celebrated the success of The Outlaws 2, titled The Roundup, although he did not join the sequel.

The 2017 film The Outlaws featured Ma Dong Seok and Yoon Kye Sang. It first explored the war between a local gang in Guro District, Seoul, and Heuksapa gang in Yanbian.

Unfortunately, Yoon Kye Sang no longer appeared to reprise his role as Jang Chen as the second film focused on supervillain Kang Hae Sang, who has been doing crimes in Vietnam, instead.

Still, he joined everyone who recently praised the film — and everything that helped it to become successful.

Yoon Kye Sang Praises Squid Game, Parasite, and BTS

In a new interview shared by Naver, Yoon Kye Sang spoke highly about the popularity of The Roundup, as its success also led The Outlaws to regain its popularity on streaming services.

The actor mentioned that, four years ago, he was pressured to be called Jang Chen — his character in the franchise. But now that he garnered more attention even after a new film came out, Yoon Kye Sang now aims to do a movie like that again.

For what it’s worth, The Outlaws sequel officially became the 14th Korean film to welcome over 12 million moviegoers and quickly surpassed Parasite on the list.

The Outlaws was rated R but still had 6.8 million moviegoers. It means that it could have seen over the 10 million mark if younger viewers were also welcomed them.

He particularly thanked Squid Game, Parasite, and BTS for helping other films and acts to be known on a global scale.

“The fandoms of K-content have built up with BTS leading K-pop and ‘Squid Game’ and ‘Parasite’ winning awards. Thanks to that, I think I’m able to receive love [from overseas] easily. It feels like the world is not far away,” he went on.

Why Yoon Kye Sang Still Receives Love and Support

Outside The Outlaws, Yoon Kye Sang has other award-winning films and shows. In fact, he built his fandom when he first debuted as a god member in 1999, years before he started his acting career.

Per the actor, people know him because of his honesty and his capacity to ensure hardships. Instead of picturing himself as someone who is always good, he showed his true self instead.

“I want to endlessly do well and I want to reach further until the moment I do well. I hope the day comes when I can watch my movie with numerous people and not feel embarrassed. No matter what, what comes first and is most important is that I really want to be good at acting,” he went on.

Yoon Kye Sang is currently part of the ongoing Disney Plus series, Kiss Six Sense.
