Yoda Actor Frank Oz Tells Off Star Wars: The Last Jedi Hater

While Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a critical success, there is a chunk of the fandom that absolutely hates the movie, and they're making sure everyone knows it four years later. Angry Star Wars fans have become a staple in the comments of director Rian Johnson, and one particular hater got a telling off from Yoda himself, Frank Oz.

After a fan had told Johnson to "apologize EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE" for The Last Jedi, Oz commented:

While a lot of people only know Oz for his work as Yoda, they should also consider that he's a director himself and has directed films like The Dark Crystal, Bowfinger, and The Stepford Wives; which means he knows what he's talking about when it comes to other directors.

Personally, I really loved The Last Jedi, and I thought it was a lot truer to the core concept of Star Wars. I guess some fans just fail to see that maintaining a strict continuity is kind of second priority when it comes to storytellers; the most important fanbase for Star Wars is kids, and a lot of fans just outright refuse to accept that.

For now, Star Wars is going to be taking a hiatus from the box office, but I'm hoping that they take the time to get back to the more storyteller-driven films like Johnson's and not the fanbase pandering that was The Rise of Skywalker. Hopefully the Disney+ shows will distract the whiny fanboys from the ‘larger' movies Lucasfilm plans to release.

In the meantime, you can catch The Mandalorian Season 2 now on Disney+.
