Jimmy has developed to become one of the show's most likable and believable characters. He is one of the most relatable characters, coming from a terrible past but working hard to make a better life for himself.
After being taken under John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) wing, he is finally sent away to Texas to learn how to be a true cowboy, but it is uncertain whether he will return to the Dutton ranch.
Will We See Jimmy on the Dutton Ranch in Yellowstone Season 5?
White discussed what viewers may anticipate from Jimmy's character going forward in an interview with TVLine.
“He chose Emily, and he chose this new life in Texas. I cross my fingers that it’s smooth sailing for him because it’s a beautiful thing,” the actor said.
“It’s the first time in his life he has a little bit of agency. There’s certainly more Jimmy in store. Whether it’s Montana or Texas, you’ll have to wait and find out.”
The main reason he hopes Jimmy's story goes smoothly in Yellowstone Season 5 is that his past appears to be behind him, and he decided to start over in Texas with his fiancée, Emily (Kathryn Kelly).
He stated that Jimmy will get a lot more next season, but it is unclear if this will take place in Texas or on the Dutton ranch in Montana.

Jimmy Hurdstrom’s Story in Yellowstone Universe
White isn't ready to reveal whether Jimmy will return to the Dutton farm just yet. He is correct, however, that it might go either way for Jimmy.
Jimmy was sent to the 6666 ranch in Texas during Yellowstone Season 4. He met his fiancée, Emily, who works as the ranch's main vet technician, at 6666. As he adapts to his new life, he learns he must return to the Dutton ranch once his contract with the 6666 ranch expires.
Jimmy has been torn about this because he has stated his willingness to go back to Dutton's ranch out of devotion and his want to go back to the 6666 ranch because of Emily.

A Promised Return
Jimmy might eventually go back to the Dutton ranch for Yellowstone Season 5. If he remained at 6666 Ranch, he could have a better chance of succeeding with the franchise. This is due to rumors that the fifth season might be the final one.
However, Paramount has greenlit a Yellowstone spin-off series, 6666, for May 2022. As a result, if Jimmy stays on the 6666 ranch, he and Emily may appear in the spin-off series and continue their narrative there.
Jimmy's links to the 6666 ranch may indicate that he has a future beyond Yellowstone Season 5.
