The world of Yellowstone continues to grow. First, in December 2021, Paramount+ launched Y: 1883, a prequel series to the show. They're also offering Yellowstone fans something more to look forward to: a brand-new spin-off series tentatively titled 6666 will introduce us to a whole other planet.
The spin-off will be directed by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, so it will have a similar look and feel to the popular series that has dominated cable ratings in recent years.
Jimmy and Emily in 6666?
It's evident that some of the seeds have been sown at this time. We got a feel of that from Jimmy's story at the ranch in Texas, and we also met someone else who is a part of that world in Emily. Both of these characters are still expected to play key roles in Yellowstone Season 5, but their future is unknown.
Jimmy and Emily were on their way back to the Sixes when they got back on the road. But, in the end, what does it all mean? We're not sure, but it appears that Jimmy's next chapter will begin soon.
When it comes to the ranch as a filming location, Sheridan owns a portion of the real-life 6666 Ranch. It'll be easy for him to return there at any time.
1883 executive producer David Glasser mentioned that more could be coming from this spin-off in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, but added that it's "coming for next year," which means don't anticipate a lot of details on this in the near future. Season 5 could help to tie everything together, but we'll have to wait and see when it premieres later this year.
6666 Release Date
It is still too early to predict when 6666 will be launched. When Paramount+ stated that three of Sheridan's new shows, including Y: 1883, would begin streaming in 2021, 6666 was not among them. That implies it could be another year or two before we get to West Texas. Let us hope that happens sooner rather than later!
The new spin-off, unlike Yellowstone, will not air on Paramount Network. 6666 will be available only on Paramount+. In addition to 6666, visitors will be able to watch Taylor's other programs such as Y: 1883, Land Man, and Boomtown.
