X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand Getting 4K Ultra HD Re-Release

Now that Disney has essentially purchased Fox, it seems like we're witnessing the end of an era for the current X-Men films. Everyone is expecting Disney and Marvel Studios to integrate the team to the MCU so it will be interesting to see how that's done. Still, Fox is aware that some fans will miss the previous X-Men films so they're going to re-release the first three movies in 4K Ultra HD.

That's right, X-Men, X2: X-Men United, and X-Men: The Last Stand will be getting a special enhanced released this month. Fans will be able to get a 4K Ultra HD set on September 25, so collectors can place this alongside the more recent First Class films that are already of high quality.

X-Men is considered by many to be the first good film with Marvel characters alongside Blade and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. While a bit dated by today's standards, when you compare it to previous superhero movies like Batman and Robin and Spawn, it's a masterpiece in comparison.

Its sequel, X2, was a very good follow up that raised the stakes and introduced new characters like Nightcrawler to a new generation of fans. This one has aged better than the first despite a few odd moments and is often seen as the best X-Men movie alongside Days of Future Past.

X-Men: The Last Stand sucks.
