X-Men Star Jennifer Lawrence Slams Hollywood Over Gender Pay Gap

I think we can all agree that Jennifer Lawrence has already had a pretty stellar career in Hollywood which is quite astonishing as the 32-year-old star is still years away from her prime. Starring in big-budget projects like The Hunger Games and X-Men franchises, Lawrence has seemingly done everything there is to do in the entertainment industry.

However, while fans would think that Lawrence is having it easy over at Tinseltown, it turns out that she's growing increasingly frustrated with how actors her stature are being treated. In a shocking turn of events, Jennifer is now lambasting production studios for not giving her the pay she thinks she rightfully deserves.

Known for her outspokenness, Lawrence slammed the industry over its gender pay gap, claiming she gets way less money than her male co-stars. In a recent interview with Vogue, the X-Men actress threw shade at male actors, saying: "It doesn't matter how much I do. I'm still not going to get paid as much as that guy, because of my vagina?"

Lawrence's bombshell comes on the heels of reports that she was paid $5 million less than what Leonardo DiCaprio made for 2021's Don't Look Up.

It's absolutely criminal that Lawrence isn't getting the same treatment as her co-stars but it also takes a lot of courage to open up about issues in the industry that most people seem to turn a blind eye to. It would be safe to assume that Jennifer's feisty remarks will spark a change in Hollywood and hopefully, more actors who have experienced the same treatment will come out in the open.

Meanwhile, speaking of the mutants, Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot is currently in development.
