X-Men: Dark Phoenix Timeline May Have Been Revealed

X-Men: Apocalypse may have given us an era of shoulder pads, intense and vivid colors, and younger X-Men members. But for all the odd timelines, flashbacks, and forwards that the X-Men franchise has put us through, it seems that the next movie will follow the previous movie a little more seamlessly.

A new report from Omega Underground's Christopher M has posted over Twitter the exact date when X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be set:

That's right—while we know that the movie will be in the ‘90s following the events of the previous movie, '91 will set a specific tone for the movie. There's also a mention of "Teen Spirit" as a possible working title, which is very telling of the era that it will be shot in.

The new reveal comes after a bevy of other confirmations for the new X-Men title. For starters, there's the return of Mystique and Magneto actors Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender, as well as James McAvoy for Professor Charles Xavier.

More than that, another hinted appearance would be Jessica Chastain, who is supposedly gunning for the still unspecified villain role. Rogue is also supposedly joining the cast, albeit a younger one that will jive with the right age for progression given Anna Paquin's Rogue for the first few X-Men movies.

While I'm very much excited to know more about X-Men Dark Phoenix, I'm reminded by the fact that Hugh Jackman as Wolverine won't be there. At least in X-Men: Apocalypse, we still got to see a cameo of him as Weapon X, slashing down so many enemies and looking just as he did when that first X-Men movie came out.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released sometime in Nov. 2 under the now-confirmed direction of Simon Kinberg.

Read:This character will be in Insomniac Games' Spider-Man.

Dr. Poison may return for more Wonder Woman movies.
