X-Men Dark Phoenix Set Photos have Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain in Mo-Cap Suits

Everyone thought we were going to get X-Men: Dark Phoenix by November, but due to some scheduled reshoots, the film was pushed back to February next year. The said reshoots are currently underway, and a new set photo has Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) and Jessica Chastain in motion capture suits.

No doubt this is going to end with some kind of CGI battle with the two ladies, but the question is, who is Chastain's character? We already know all about the Phoenix thanks to X-Men: The Last Stand, but so far, the only clue we have of Chastain's character is that her last name is Smith. Theories on her true identity have ranged from a Xavier's former lover Lilandra to a female version of Mastermind.

Rumor has it that the reshoots are set to change the whole third act of the film, and that's why they're working on it so extensively. Personally, I'm hoping that Fox decides to end the X-franchise with this movie. With the Disney merger set to finalize next year, I'm hoping that they just close this chapter of the X-Men so Marvel Studios can start anew—just like they did with Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to come out Feb. 14, 2019.
